From charting spilling into evening hours and paper folders piling up on desks, to systematically re-designing his clinic and workflow - all while boosting ratings and revenue.
Thank you for having me, you made it so comfortable to converse! I would love if we all could become CEOs of our medical jobs! Here is a link to my weekly videos on how to build it step by step https://www.youtube.com/@DrBartKaczmarek
Thank you Bart, the pleasure was mine - appreciate your time and thoughtful conversation and insights, which I'm sure will be helpful to many physicians designing their ideal practice!
Scott and Bart. Absolutely inspiring conversation. I love that your workflow is adding jobs and patients with improved access and care delivery. This is completely opposite of what "leaders" would suggest and to be honest, what I would have said before reading and listening. Thanks for opening my eyes. Scott - keep these conversations going.
Hi Jake, thank you so much not only for your readership, but also for your thoughtful note and open-mindedness about this novel approach that Bart had for his clinic! One thing that resonated with me about it is the match between the person and physician that Bart is, and the way he's delivering care to his patient panel. And I can see that other physicians could have a totally different style and different practice - and have their own unique match.
But it's satisfying to see the way he used leverage, innovative structure, and trust in his team to redefine the practice - and is now spreading his impact to other practices.
Interesting conversation. So many questions. Not a physician but care deeply about creating life/work environments that fuel us rather than drain us. So critical in order to bring our best selves forward. Love the attention to team communication. How’s the patient satisfaction outcomes? Would love to hear more about that piece. Congratulations to you!
Hi Jen! Thank you for your interest in Physician Vantage Studio, and in this particular conversation! I definitely resonate with the importance you place on creating our ideal work/life environments that are fueling - and sustainable and durable for the long term.
So, I asked Bart about how the patient’s adjusted to the new system, and whether they felt that they had enough time/attention as well, and here was his reply quoted below. I hope it’s helpful, and thanks again for your engagement!

"A lot of patients are actually happy that the visit is brief I hear more positive things than negative such as “I love how it’s so quick and to the point each time!” Or “thank you for fitting me in same day” but there are patients who don’t like that style and it’s OK. My goal is to not to make everyone love what I do and as long as I’m fair and honest, listen, address all their concerns each time and stay available.
I will continue doing what works for me and if someone wants to switch to a different doctor - I’m allowing that possibility but open for specific complaints to make sure we did not drop the ball on quality. We have changed how we work several times and faced the issue of retraining, our patients to new behaviors. It was with block fees vs not, call us for results vs we will call you for results, arrange follow-up online vs front desk, booking online. It usually take about 3 to 6 months before anything we do becomes normal for the patients. The latest thing we changed was wayfinding and self rooming - patients are told to go to room 14 and close the door after. I feel that as long as the staff is on board with the change - it starts feeling normal from the inside from day one.”
